Most of my readers are aware that when I was 19, I moved to Michigan from Kansas. I made Michigan my home for 5 years. And let me tell you…it was rough. I didn’t know anyone! And it’s hard to make friends as an adult, especially when you live in a little bitty village that’s probably not even technically considered civilization.

But…I did it. I made some amazing friends…especially my bestie, Robin. I blossomed…I was pretty awkward in high school, and Michigan helped me shed that.

There were bad times…I’ve pretty spent my adult life in Michigan, and part of that included truly facing my infertility. With that came the depression. And believe me, it was rough.

But…I I survived. I went to therapy…I even was on medication for a bit. I hated myself sometimes, but the other day I called my therapist and she called me one of her biggest success stories. I can’t even tell you how good that felt. I overcame my depression and OCD.

Things were GREAT. Things were settled in Michigan…I had a job, a good marriage, friends, family…I had it all.

Then the phone rang…and Company (I’m not going to name the company, you guys) began interviewing Jay.

It was such a long process…at times I thought I was going to lose my mind. I became convinced that he wouldn’t get the job. I began freaking out because if he got the job, we’d be moving.

To California. Away from our home. Our jobs. Our friends. Our family. Our life.
